Check the U5 characters
The model prefix is useful only when the generation matches. Keep the whole model rather than shortening it to LGM240. If the refrigerant character or efficiency character differs from this reference, use Lennox’s documentation finder to locate the appropriate source.
- Full model, serial and a legible nameplate photograph.
- Site equipment tag and location.
- Actual nameplate refrigerant and electrical information.
Keep the control evidence with the unit
The referenced installation book includes model, serial and firmware information in its paired-app workflow. When investigating a controls issue, preserve the equipment identity alongside the observed message and any report the technician exports.
- Installed controller identity and firmware, if available.
- Observed message and timestamp, without turning it into a diagnosis.
- Separate thermostat or BAS identity when it is part of the complaint.
Prepare a useful support question
Before contacting technical support, put the complaint, observations and work already performed in one place. End with the specific question you need answered. Keep customer details and attachments in your normal private support channel.
- Equipment identity and the condition that prompted the call.
- Timeline, readings with units and relevant photographs.
- What has been checked, what changed and what remains unresolved.
Finish the report while it is fresh
Carry your entered model into a service report, then record the actual work. If the next step is a parts or warranty question, record that as follow-up. A report should not imply that a claim or repair has been approved.
- Findings, work performed and condition on departure.
- Component identity and evidence for any proposed follow-up.
- Next action and the party responsible for answering it.
Review the full model before adding it. Existing work in your saved draft stays intact.
